Adam Weissman is a media, arts, and entertainment lawyer and the founder of Weissman Law.

Over the course of his career, Adam has represented photographers, filmmakers, visual artists and designers, commercial production companies, creative and advertising agencies, talent representation, creators, and influencers through everything from company formation, intellectual property registration, contract template and internal policy development, to dispute resolution and complex deal negotiation.

Shortly after launching Weissman Law in New York City in 2017, Adam began a 5-year stint as external general counsel for Socialyte, a pioneering influencer management company and marketing agency, as well as its sister company, Nylon Media, a long-established magazine that had just transitioned from a print publication to a digital-only outlet. In that dual role, Adam not only handled the legal work involved in audio-visual production and photography, live events, online media publication and advertising, and other aspects of the entertainment space, but was involved in day-to-day business issues, affording him the perspective to apply his legal knowledge in the wider, industry context.

Prior to launching Weissman Law, Adam was an associate at a mid-sized litigation firm in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, where he was involved in early internet copyright and defamation disputes, as well as had the opportunity to work with early adopters in the podcast and digital media space.

Outside of law, Adam is a lifelong guitar player (and occasional performer), amateur BBQer, film nerd, and documentary filmmaker.

As of 2024, Adam was selected as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers for the 6th year in a row for his work in entertainment law.
