Adam Weissman

Adam Weissman is the founder of Weissman Law. He advises clients across media, arts, and entertainment, including creators, production companies, agencies, and talent representatives, on contracts, intellectual property, disputes, and deal negotiation.
Before launching his firm in 2017, Adam worked on early internet copyright and defamation matters as a litigator at a mid-sized firm in Toronto, Canada. He also previously served as external general counsel to sister-companies, Nylon Media and Socialyte, advising across production, publishing, live events, advertising, and broader entertainment-industry issues.
Adam has extensive experience acting as production counsel on commercial shoots, independent films, photoshoots, and digital productions, as well as advising management companies from the start-up phase, through acquisitions and sales.
In 2026, he was named a Super Lawyers Rising Star in entertainment law for the eighth consecutive year. Outside of law, Adam dabbles in documentary-filmmaking and the occasional bar gig.
